Product Reviews

  1. Very Best Tube Readers

Posted by Em Ferris on Apr 26th 2017

I am amazed with the comfort and quality & durability of these Readers.
I have been wearing tube readers for over 5 years. I had ordered some from another company a month before these and they were not comfortable and no quality.
My readers are bent or broken when my Shih Tzu's paw pulls my glass chain.
These Readers did not bend or break when his paw pulled the chain. I couldn't believe it. Thank you American Reading Glasses.

  3. Tube Readers are Super!

Posted by Donna Schmerbach on Feb 1st 2017

I have been using ARG tube readers for over 10 years and they are perfect if you need a reader but have no problem with distance vision. The small 1/4 inch lense size allows me to look up from reading and see things in the distance without having to move the glasses lower on my nose. The tube readers were the only glasses I used without problem as a classroom teacher, constantlt shifting my vision from near to far. Readers with larger lenses did not work as I would have to slide the glasses down on my nose in order to look at someone or something beyond reading distance. I LOVE these readers!

  4. Tube Glasses - Strength and Weaknesses

Posted by Unknown on Oct 5th 2016

My most recent order included two pair (2.50 silver) that had curved ear pieces. They are curved sufficiently to make it difficult to get them in and out of the tube - straight would be better. I am betting these will be soon broken. The third pair (2.75 black) has straight ear pieces. I have used tube glasses from this company for years and will continue to do so. Strengths - cheap and convenient (e.g. small). Weaknesses - nose pieces and ear pieces prone to breaking.

  5. Tube Readers are convenient to carry, especially in a pocket, because they are protected inside the hard case.

I was pleased, when I first got my Tube Readers, especially to see the smaller diameter red cases that contained the +3.0 readers. Unfortunately, the smaller diameter red cases are such a tight fit for the reading glasses, when I tried to remove the glasses from one of the cases, I separated the ear piece from the temple piece. It pulled right off, and that was the only thing I had in my hand, while the readers remained snugly inside the case.

  6. Good Product But Tube Diameter Greater Than Described

Posted by Unknown on May 10th 2016

I would give the product a 5-star rating because it is of a quality comparable with what I have received in previous purchases from you. However, the tube measures nearly 15/16" in diameter and nearly 5-5/8" in length, instead of the listed 3/4" diameter and 5-1/4" length. The added width and length is more awkward and less appealing for wearing in a shirt front pocket, as is my habit. Also, the lens height of new version is closer to 5/8" instead of the listed 1/2". While that might be a benefit, they are too large to fit the previous (smaller) tubes, . I recommend that the product description be changed to reflect the correct diameter.

  7. Good product - why Can't I purchase with the case?

Posted by Unknown on Nov 28th 2015

Have purchased over 20 pairs of these glasses. I am hard on them and they are reasonably priced. Would be a 5, except that the nose rests are very inconsistent in shape. Also, very maddening that I cannot purchase the glasses without the tube case. Have lots of cases if anyone needs. C'mas tree ornaments, maybe??
